Fundamentals first

The why comes before the chart.

  1. 01

    It crosses

A wire headline, an economic release, a post from the President, the Fed, an earnings filing. Timed to the second.

  2. 02

    We measure the move

The minute chart around it on S&P, Nasdaq, oil, gold, bonds and FX, against what a normal five minutes looks like.

  3. 03

    You see the history

Every past time it happened, what the market did next, and whether a move like it started a trend or faded.

News + Impact

See which headlines actually moved the market.

The wire, the President’s market posts, the Fed and earnings filings in one feed. A line is marked market moving only when the market moved at least 4× its normal five minutes right after it, something about 3 in 100 random minutes do.

  • Charts open on the line itself, the minute it crossed ringed
  • Every past release and headline, by type, instrument or date
  • Pushed the moment it lands, with voice and sound if you want them

Economic calendar

Thirteen economies. Impact measured, not guessed.

Every release from the major economies with the actual the second it crosses. Each release type is rated by how much the S&P really moved after it, and you see its last six reactions before it’s out.

While New York slept

Wake up knowing what moved overnight, and why.

Every night split into after close, Asia, Europe and pre-open, with the cause filed inside the leg that moved: a release in Tokyo, a headline in London, a heavyweight’s earnings after the bell.

  • World indices, FX, gold and bitcoin since the close

Openings

The first hour, studied session by session since 2010.

Every open classified by rules: open-drive, open-test-drive, open-rejection-reverse. Then the days around it: the session before, the night, the headlines and the trend it sat in, and whether a stop just past the open survived.

Honest research

Every claim is written down before it’s tested.

Ideas are tested on years they were never fitted to, and what fails is published next to what holds. Most edges you read about don’t survive that. The few that do are labelled with how sure we are.

  • Each finding has its sample size and error bars
  • Leads stay leads until they pass out of sample

  • Holds

An inflation surprise points the S&P’s first five minutes the right way 89% of the time.

By the close it’s 57%, no better than a coin within the error.

  • Rejected

Two calendar rules from a popular FX trading book.

Written down first, then failed on years they were never fitted to.

  • Chance

The President’s average market post moves the S&P no more than a random minute.

Energy and tech posts move oil and the Nasdaq about 4× as often.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Everything is free while westi.ai is in private testing. Paid plans come later, and testers hear about them first.

Why invite only?

We’re testing with a small group first. If you don’t have an invite yet, create an account anyway: you’ll join the waitlist and we’ll let you in as we open up.

Is it real time?

Headlines and releases arrive within seconds and are pushed to your screen. westi.ai is not a trading terminal: there are no live futures quotes. The point is the history, so you know what usually happens next.

Where does the data come from?

Releases from the agencies themselves (BLS, BEA, the Federal Reserve, FRED), consensus forecasts and the global calendar from a data vendor, earnings filings from SEC EDGAR, news wires, and exchange futures history at one-minute detail.

Is this investment advice?

No. westi.ai shows what markets did after past events. It doesn’t tell you what to buy or sell, and past reactions don’t promise future ones.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, any time from your account page. We keep only your email, your name if you give one, and your settings.

Be ready for the next one.
